The Enquirer on Kerry

I was in the supermarket the other day and noticed that Kerry is on the cover of the National Enquirer pictured with Morgan Fairchild. While stories in the Enquirer are of course greatly exaggerated, they are usually premised on kernals of fact. So I read the article on Kerry with great interest. And, even given the tabloid nature of the Enquirer, the article is really pretty scathing against Kerry.

Predictably, the article suggests that Kerry was a bad husband to his first wife who became suicidally depressed in the marraige, and that he remains a womanizer and adulterer. There is also much attention given to the incident where Kerry pretended to throw back his medals during a protest. Apparently Kerry's deception with the medals wasn't discovered until years later when a reporter noticed the medals hung on the wall in Kerry's office. That's pretty bad. (I wonder how Kerry supporters rationalize the medals thing.)

However, the most interesting point raised in the article is that Kerry resided at apartments paid for by lobbiests between his marraiges. This is something that could be factually documented. Has anybody seriously looked into this?
